It's been a long time I didn't wrote any article on this blog, I'm sorry for my regular readers but I've been very busy during the last months, with not a lot of time for Ceegee. I will try to take more time for it, but at first, I wanted to wish you a great year 2013.
When wishing you a happy year 2012 (with this greeting card), I told you my project to create my own studio. Today it's done, and after many administrative formalities, trainings and reflexions, I'm proud to introduce Les Pixels Associés, communication and multimedia design studio. More precisely, my work is to provide communication and branding consultancy to freelancers, small or mid-size companies, and to create their communication tools, especially interactive tools (website creation, online marketing, mobile, etc).
I can't show you my first works yet, but here are some pictures of the studio's identity. Feel free to get in touch if you want more informations, or if you want to work with me (as client or partner).
A new year just started, the opportunity for me to wish you the best, happiness, health and success. The opportunity to make a little greetings card, I hope you'll find it nice.
For me, this year will be full of new experiences, as I explain in the card. A year which starts in a great way, with a tutorial and an interview published in a special Blog edition of the french editor Oracom.
Some weeks ago I interviewed Mazmelle Print, community manager of the french pure player printing-house Print O'Clock. She offered me the printing of 5 000 leaflets. So I used them as my personnal greetings card, promoting my font Mister Jun (and killing two birds with one stone).
So this post is for me the place to wish a happy year to my readers, and through this translation to my foreign readers especially. I hope my english is comprehensible. In this card, meaning in english "365 creative days for 2011", I choosed to highlight creativity, because it's designed for graphic designers, but also because I think that 2010 showed a lot of opportunities and alternatives which have to be explored in 2011 !

C’était avec plaisir que j’avais répondu il y a quelques semaines à l’interview d’une journaliste du magazine Créanum, qui avait découvert mon travail via Behance. Cet échange a abouti à un petit article (une demi page) que l’on peut lire dans le dernier numéro de Créanum, que j’ai pu trouver aujourd’hui en kiosque. C’est une impression assez étonnante de voir ses travaux dans un magazine, d’autant plus que pour moi l’occasion s’est présentée complètement par hasard. Quelques images de l’article et quelques mots sur Créanum dans la suite !
Mister. Jun est une typographie originale déclinée en deux versions, une romaine et une italique (son nom est un hommage à Seba Jun, alias Nujabes, producteur de hip hop japonais décédé récemment). Conçue pour être utilisée en tant que typo de titrage, ou pour la réalisation de compositions typographiques originales telles que la conception de logotypes, illustrations, etc, j’ai voulu créer une fonte ayant un grand impact visuel tout en conservant certaines subtilités apportées par les courbes, empattements et le fort contraste pleins/déliés.
A noter : Cette typographie ne comporte que des bas de casses (minuscules). De plus, le kerning (interlettrage réalisé entre des paires de lettres spécifiques) ne semble pas pris en compte dans les fichiers .ttf , je vous conseille donc de faire attention aux interlettrages et de les modifier manuellement lors de votre composition.
Je serai très heureux de voir ce que d’autres graphistes pourraient faire de ma typo, donc n’hésitez surtout pas à m’envoyer un mail avec des images de vos travaux utilisant ma fonte !
