Ilha Formosa, paper art and data-visualization by Tien-Min Liao

Tien-Min Liao is a young taïwanese designer, who decided to continue her studies in New York after being graduated in her country. Loving her country and her culture, she realised that a large part of american people doesn't really know Taïwan. It gives her the idea to make an explicative book about life and culture in Taïwan.
Playing with the fashions of data-visualization and paper art, she made very good quality book, full of details and subtleties, which deals with a lot of topics like TV programs, weather, food habits...

Between technology and jewelry : creations of Paola Mirai

Paola Mirai is an italian designer based in Milano. After several years of work as artistic director, she decided to get involved into jewelry and she created a new material called "Orotrasparente". She includes in this material pieces of old electronic objects (like printed circuits or mecanic pieces), and she gives these objects a second life and a new rank, exhibiting them at the heart of her creations. Some of her creations reminds amber necklaces in which old insects are trapped. A very original universe to discover through her site.

This work produced a very interesting minimalistic website, allowing the user to listen the album while "vizualisating" it through the interactive music player.

Inspiration and webdesign #3

Inspiration and webdesign #3 : a selection of most beautiful full flash or HTML/CSS websites

After my two posts "Inspiration and Webdesign Flash" that you can find here and here (not yet translated in english), I decided to continue this series by mixing full flash website with other web technologies. I made this choice because I think it's more and more artificial to make a difference between flash and other technologies, HTML5 and Javascript allowing now to reach high interactivity and animation levels. In this post you will find a high part of full flash websites, but some HTML / CSS / JS productions too.

Feilung Feilung, between fashion and graphic design

Honestly, I can't tell you a lot about Feilun Feilung, and I'm not even sure if it is a real name or just a pseudonym. Anyway, the Behance page matching this taïwanese artist is full of visually interesting projects. Often fashion related, he realises very original accessories or clothes, with a graphic look. I find something very atypical in these works, often based on white backgrounds and simple layouts, but full of details and unexpected textures. The approach of human body is really unusual too, with distortions, recompositions...
